Attention Internet Explorer users: The message board and tackle shop are provided by Inside Sportfishing. Because they remain on Inside Sportfishing's server, and use cookies for login and identification purposes, the cookies sent when the message boards and tackle shop are accessed through Bite's On! show up as third-party cookies. The default security settings for Internet Explorer, particularly the more recent versions (e.g. version 6.0), automatically reject all third-party cookies, creating problems with logging in and posting to the message board, and shopping in the tackle shop. Because this is an issue inherent in Internet Explorer, and therefore experienced by many people, we are currently looking into a few different options to fix this.
A short-term solution is to:
1. In the Internet Explorer tool bar, select Tools --> Internet Options --> Privacy --> Advanced --> Override Automatic Cookie Handling --> Prompt Third-party cookies.
2. After doing this, log on to the message board, and when the cookie prompt appears for a third-party cookie from Inside Sportfishing, select "Apply this decision to all cookies from this site" and hit "accept."
3. You can then return to the cookie settings as described in step 1, and uncheck "Override Automatic Cookie Handling." All cookies from Inside Sportfishing will always be accepted, so you should be able to remain logged in, and keep items in your shopping cart in the tackle shop.
